Russian Men and Why You Need to Avoid Them at All Cost (Part 2)

Source
So, this is what we know so far: Russian men are not the most faithful people in the world; they also have problems with hygiene and are not aesthetically pleasing.

Are there more negative things about Russian men?  Of course, there are. We barely scratched the surface.

Today we will examine one more.

More after the jump...

4.  Russian men are sexist. No, we did not misspell "sexy". They are not sexy at all. They are sexist. Yes, a man will open all the doors for a lady and let her go in first, present her with flowers and will kiss her hand.... However, that's only if he is courting her. After she officially becomes his "significant other" or even his girlfriend, she will be expected to follow the 3K rule: "Kinder, Kuche, Kirche" Source.

Russian society is extremely patriarchal and very traditional. On the surface, women seem to be quite independent. However, even if your wife is a successful businesswoman and brings in more dough, the guy still wears the pants in the family, both figuratively and literally. He is entitled to make all the "final" decisions, no matter how wrong they might be.

This guy is NOT RUSSIAN! (Source)

It's a woman's job to cook (three full meals a day), wash dishes, wash the floor, do the laundry, take care of the house, raise the children and what not. Good luck finding a Russian husband who is willing to share any household duties. There is a huge lineup of Russian women to get this guy.  .

Unfortunately, cooking, cleaning, and raising children are just a part of the problem. Women are paid less for the same amount of work, severely underrepresented in the government or any upper management, more scrutinized by the media and the society, a subject of sexist jokes and open sexual harassment.   Source

According to columnist Svetlana Feoktistova, discrimination against women is commonplace in Russia. “Men allow themselves to use insulting expressions, engage in sexual harassment, and make dirty jokes, thinking that it is normal and that if a woman is offended, she lacks a sense of humor." Source

Russian society is in a state of a "sexless sexism", where both public opinion and social practices have been extremely sexist, all empirical sex differences being taken as given by nature. Source

We have to admit that Russian women are just as sexist as men, like the Russian society on the whole. It is rare to find a Russian girl who does not believe that women are a "weaker sex", who does not scoff at feminism, and who thinks women can be just as effective as men in upper management positions.

Here is an interesting account on sexism in Russia written by a Russian woman who grew up in America. When in Rome...

If you are still not convinced that Russian men are the not the best husbands, check out the top ten countries for husband hunting. Top Ten Countries for Husband Hunting Do you see Russian men listed as the best (forget the best, we would settle for just okay) husbands? We don't either.

  1. As a Russian man grown up in the Soviet Union and later moved to the US, unfortunately, I mostly agree with your arguments. But you and the unsuspecting audience need to understand one thing: Russian mens' ****-upness is largely not their own fault. It is communism/socialisms' /collectivisms fault. It takes time to adjust. And crony capitalism which substituted the socialist state did not help.

Where I disagree with you is your dumb stating a "Top Ten Countries for Husband Hunting" article as an authoritative source for judging men as their suitability for marriage. What differentiates these ten countries from Russia is the extent to which their short-sighted neo-Marxian citizen taxpayers are eager to support their welfare states. In Russia there is a saying "durakov zeds' nema" meaning like there are no fools here to pay for your welfare, to which I strongly agree. It is a naive form of thinking that foreign women marry men for their personality, love, care, sexiness or the qualities. It is rational and smart to consider that most women, especially when there is a difference in income, consider welfare benefits as their first, or at least, important, objective. Russian state sucks as a welfare donor, hence the dislike of Russian men.

  2. Let me disagree. Even though most women consider financial stability of their future husbands as an important factor in marriage, welfare benefits never come first for any respectable woman when marrying either a compatriot or a foreigner.
Most women marry for personality, not welfare. Unless they are from a mail-order bride catalogue. But this is a whole different issue.
